Ari & Ezra Round 2

Their announcement! Adam did a wonderful job designing it, because he’s amazing like that.

TwinsPrint_loTwinsBackPrint_loOn the boys 1 month birthday, I decided to try again and take some more images of them since I was feeling much better

physically and they would likely be more alert. We were a bit more successful, but seriously, shooting twins is exhausting.

Bro, stop screamin’ in my ear.

Can you tell there was a hair dryer blowing warm air on their faces? Ha!

ae006ae007

Oh, hey! We’re awake!

ae009

The easiest way to tell them apart is that Ezra has a rounder face and Ari has a the longer oval face. Kinda like the Bert

and Ernie effect. 🙂 Apparently this is normal for twins! Adam and Ari (both baby A) have the longer faces while Ezra and

Eric are the same as well.

Ari is on the left. Ezra is posing for “portraits by Deb” on the right. :0

We took a few seconds to calm them down and we set up for their birth announcement shot. Ezra is obsessed with holding

up his head. That’s all he ever wants to do. 🙂

ae012

A long time ago, I chatted with my super talented and creative friend, Holly. I told her I had an idea I wanted to do for the

kids for when they met the babies. Besides the fact the whole plan in my head didn’t work at all for a number of reasons, we

had to do a separate shoot to use the shirts! Holly offered to just take over the project and so glad she did because her skills

are 500% better than mine. 🙂 “Wild Thing” is putting it lightly these days.

ae016

“Queen of All Wild Things” is exactly what she is around here.

ae017

“Itty Bitty and Teeny Tiny Wild Things!” She surprised me with those hats! Adorable!!

ae021

Ever tried soothing two screaming babies? There’s a real art to it, lemme tell ya. It’s super awkward but we are getting better.

ae018ae019ae020

I love them Holly! Thanks so much!! The stress of getting this single shot of all looking and no one crying was totally worth it.

ae022ae023

She requested this picture and told me exactly what she wanted. So I complied.

ae024

That grin. Oy. Gets him outta so much trouble. These days, he’s very lucky he’s cute.

ae025ae026ae027

Thanks for smiling, Ari!

ae028

Again, she directed me on what to do here. Ezra was crying and she told me to “get rid of him and I will just kiss Ari.”

I usually do this shot with mothers and well, that’s still appropriate here.

ae029ae030

By this point, we were about 3.5 hrs into shooting. The boys had been screaming off and on the whole time because newborn

sessions are complete torture for babies. Adam and I were supa over it, but dang it, I really wanted images of us with our last

babies while they were still tiny. They were both hovering around 6 lbs here.

ae031

My heart.

ae032ae033ae034

Chilaxing with a handful of babes.

ae035ae037

Can I just say, it’s so nice to see my face look normal again. And my ankles. And fingers. Besides the initial immediate weight

loss post birth, nursing these guys has been no joke. I’m so thankful I’m able to breastfeed them because lactating for twins is

a crazy calorie killer. Nursing for the win!

ae038ae039ae040ae041

This took 3 people, one pee and poop soaked scarf, a ladder, about 50 takes and a solid 90min for this single shot. Yep.

That’s why I don’t EVER do it for clients. Way too much work for me to do by myself. Literally, it would be impossible.

ae001

And for fun here’s the other two kids announcements.

Still haven’t gotten a full family shot, but we will eventually. Hopefully before they are 6mths. 🙂 Happy Ash Wednesday! How

is Easter already around the corner?!

Heart, Melanie.
