Mr. & Mrs. Newberry!

We’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a really long time which seemed like forever away and just like that, it’s come and gone.

Buzz and Rebecca met while working on a fancy cruise ship that sails the entire world. After a few years and circles around the globe, he proposed.

Her homebase was in England, while Buzz lived in Texas. I’m glad they chose England as their location. 🙂 We met them in Bath, England on

Tuesday and the wedding was on Thursday.

Most of his closest friends made the journey across the pond!

What bride doesn’t want a back up set of sparkly shoes on her wedding day?

newberry004newberry006

The girls ordered flutes with their room service champagne. The guys…used what was available. HAHA!

Buzzy gives his Mom the look, “Yep. It’s really happening, Mom. I know, I never thought this day would come either.”

Rebecca’s Father passed away unexpectedly not long ago. It was very emotional without him there, but he made himself known in

so many blatant ways. She had all the groomsmen wear her Daddy’s cufflinks. <3

We were supposed to start pics at 5. Except the gals weren’t ready. BUT it was ok because it was pouring rain anyhow. As soon as she was

zipped in, guess what happened? The rain stopped. First small miracle because the entire day was forecasted 100% rain. But sho enough,

when we needed it to stop, it did. But Buzz wanted to let it be known, he was ready at 5 anyway. HA!

Hello gorgeous!

newberry019

Adam did a great job of capturing Buzz for who he is. And that is NOT a serious person.

newberry020newberry021newberry022

So elegant and beautiful!

newberry023

Never looked so sharp, Buzz!

I forgot I was shooting in a different country for a minute. I’m so used to wandering and doing what I want. We kept using

people’s property and they would stare out the window like, Girl, whatchu think you’re doin?

I mean, those dresses were made for these girls!

The second angel wink from her Daddy, gave her and I both chills. So the day before Adam and I scouted places to shoot. We came upon this

door on a busy street lined with parked cars. I said to him confidently, there won’t be a car parked in front of this door tomorrow, I will be

able to stand in that spot and shoot. He joked and said, “Or the groomsmen will just pick up the car and move it.” (It was a small coupe) The next

day, as we walked down the hill headed to the doors, from a distance I saw what appeared to be an open spot. I mumbled to Adam, “holy heck,

no way!!” I ran ahead to see if it was true. It was. I teared up trying to explain how little coincidence it was that the 50 spots surrounding were

full, but the single spot I needed empty, was.

When you see the Bride comin at ya.

newberry039newberry040newberry041

In England, the bridesmaids walk behind the bride. The last fluff of her dress so that she looks perfect for her groom.

newberry042

Oh ya, no big deal, but the wedding took place in the Roman’s Great Bath. Liiiike, in the actual ruins.

newberry072

That’s Recbecca’s Mom gazing sweetly in blue and Buzz’s Dad in the suit.  Love all the emotions! I wish I could have stepped back

another foot to get Donna, Buzz’s Mom, in the frame too, but then I would have splashed right into the bath. My right heel was already

off the edge as it was. Womp.

When the staff hands you Champagne at the end of your recessional!

newberry061newberry062

The flower girls were surprised at the warmth of the water. It streams in so quickly that it could fill a regular size bath tub in 8 seconds!

newberry051

Naturally, they paused portraits to do the Queens wave to their guests below. 🙂

newberry060newberry052newberry053newberry054

As we were walking back in from the very last portrait, it started to drizzle. Ten steps later, we tossed umbrellas at them and we ran

inside. Thanks for holding the rain off, Mr. Thompson!

newberry055newberry056

Then we went downstairs to get the Bath shots now that the guests were going up to the reception. It occurred to Buzz and I quickly.

OH MY GAH. The rain! It started again, not by coincidence! Because the rain hitting the hot water creates the steam that Buzz really

wanted IN THESE SPECIFIC SHOTS!

newberry057

His timing could not have been more impeccable. We only had a few minutes before announcing in the reception. It was like He flipped the

switch to turn on the steam for when we got back into the Bath. And there was still daylight while it happened. If it had rained any sooner or even

5minutes later, they wouldn’t have any of these lovely shots. Can I get an Amen?

Then they turned on Bex’s girl, Whitney Housten.

newberrycomp002 At the start of the reception, the coordinator told me the Abbey lights outside would turn off at 11. B&B wanted to chill for awhile and enjoy the party

so we had to wait to shoot this, but they really wanted it. I saw 11 come and go and the formalities weren’t finished. On a whim I poked my head

outside anyway at 11:30 and the lights were still on. The coordinator said, “It must be their lucky day! I don’t know why they’re still on?!” So we set

up our flashes and grabbed them. Lights turned off at 11:45, just a few minutes after we walked in. :O How clear was it that Mr. Thompson wanted

to make his baby girl’s day as perfect as he could?! SO AMAZING.

newberry080

This wedding was extra special to me because Buzzy is my Godfather! The shot on the right is with both my Godparents! 🙂 Such a fun experience

to share with him. So blessed they were able to bring us along to capture their beautiful memories! Thanks so much, to you too Aunt Donna, for

hosting us! It was wonderful to finally meet you, Bex! And TRULY Buzzy has never been so happy. I can’t wait to see what’s next in your crazy

cool lives! I mean, you’ve already seen the entire world together, soooo…

newberry082Love you guys! Heart, Melanie and Adam.
