Jack.

The first time I shot Jack, I believe he was still in single digits. Even back then, his character was very obvious. And it wasn’t the type of personality you grow out of, he was definitely going to get goofier and continue to do his own thing. So here he is, graduating high school…doing just that. 😍

Holy grown up, man!

I kept teasing him because it was very evident he KNEW what he was doing with his expressions. He practiced and I love him for it. 🤣😍

When working with photogenic clients, poses pop into my mind so easily. Love this!!

Big thanks to our mutual friends, the McAlisters, for meeting us with a ’56 Chevy to complete Jack’s design board!

I was unsure of pulling the car into the field but I’m so glad BJ was up for it. That clear horizon was important for the entire feel we wanted!

“You’re at a drive in. The ladies are giggling over there in a huddle. Get them to come over to you.” 🤣🤣 Well done. 😍

After a change he walks towards me, waving his comb proudly. “My favorite prop for tonight!” I just love you, Jack. 🥰

Apparently Mom wanted the sideburns trimmed up, buuuut Mom was at work and he snuck out with the midcentury look he loves.

That James Dean confidence though!

You’re so damn adorable but also so handsome!!

The real reason he dressed the part and wanted the car…ELVIS. I’m not sure if “idolize” is the right word, call it what you will, but Jack actually impersonates him in a band with all older gentlemen. Like people who grew up with Elvis, not old souls born decades later channeling him only from old videos available! But he does it well! And he LOVES it! 🤣

Meet baseline Jack Rewwer.

Better believe he had blue suede shoes!

🔥🔥🔥

I love the color, but the black and white sure does give that 1950’s vibe!

I told him to serenade me. 😍

What’s an Elvis session without a snarl?

In bed the night before, out nowhere a sunny silhouette of Jack came to mind, clear as day. I knew I could achieve that at the location, I just needed the sun. So as we were winding down I was like, I have this idea. It’s wild when you can bring to fruition exactly what you wanted, because how often do the stars align like that? (Especially since the original night was postponed from pouring rain!)

“Let’s rock! Everybody in the whole cell block!” I’ll be honest. It took a minute to achieve straight out of the camera exactly what I wanted, as he had to jump and hold the pose plus I needed his toe tips above the tree line. Well done, us!! 😍😍😍

But a zoomed in frame was also dope!😍

Y’all. Let me just give you another peak into Jack’s mind. I told him, “ok man, I gotta call it quits or I’ll continue to shoot you til its pitch black! So I end every senior….” He stops me with his finger in the air, “Oh I know. Hang on” then GETS OUT HIS PHONE and scrolls as he already had planned the 4 shots. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I about died. Seriously, this kid. That last frame was from an album cover, of course.

I’m not gonna lie, I was a little anxious as you had such high hopes for this session, Jack. I was worried we wouldn’t achieve the perfection that we did. But I’m not sure why I was worried? I knew you’d be hilarious and overly confident, plus a good location and props. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We were all set, especially when we had beautiful light! You’re going to do big things, but we’ve all known that the last 18yrs. Just can’t wait to see what it is! 😍 Thanks again, BJ and Chrissy for helping with all the car arrangements! That Chevy really was the icing on the cake! 🎉

Heart, Melanie
