We started their engagement where it was warm they met. You’d think at 3 o’clock on a Saturday, Steak ‘n’ Shake would be empty.
Nope, full house with eyes all on us. Back in the day that would have made me feel awkward, now I know people are staring
because they want to be part of what we are doing. Whispers of “I wonder if it’s for a new ad?” “Are they famous?” had us
laughing, which made my job even easier!
After the restaurant we headed to a park down the street in hopes for some snowfall. We cancelled the session a few weeks ago
because the snow was super wet and slushie and the day was gloomy. I could have made it work but truly I had this vision in my
mind of what I wanted. Snowfall, giggles, snuggling under a blanket, sled rides and snowball fights. Couples don’t often want a
winter session so when the brave step forward, I really wanted to rock it. This day the snow was fresh with a 30% chance later in
the afternoon. Fingers were crossed.
All the red accents make this perfect. I do believe Tylan proposed on this blanket as well. 🙂
The giggles and cuddling came very naturally.
And then guess what happened!! Magical!
Kristen brought these cute mugs and because they were up for any suggestion I had, they made some snowcones. 🙂
Those lips!!
Let me test the light, stand there. PSYCH! Just wanted a portrait. Heehe.
Look at them with their perfect hair. *Jealous*
HA! Tylan totally didn’t expect it and it was hilarious. Get it girl.
This is funny. I asked her to blow snow toward him and I honestly paid zero attention to anything but Kristen and the elements
of the shot. When I was choosing for the blog I saw this and was all, “Oh, HA! Poor guy. I hadn’t really realized the damage she
was doing to his cold face. Bahahah woops.” Sorry Tylan!
But he was clearly a good sport!
The snowflakes!! Their pretty faces! The snow in their hair! On their coats! YES!
Kristen found her childhood sled in her folks garage!
Gorgeous.
And just as I was finishing up, the snow stopped. It was perfect.
I really can’t express how happy I am that we waited. This session turned out exactly how I pictured it in my mind. It was SO
FUN! Truly, I was having such a good time that I wasn’t even cold?! I was even rolling around on the ground and doing all my
normal antics, which left me a dripping mess once thawed out in the car. D’oh. I hope you guys warmed up quick and seeing the
images made any of the frostbite worth it! You did SO GOOD. Bring this same giddiness to your wedding and we are golden! Yay!
Heart, Melanie.
