The Huths.

Back in April, our whole family was supposed to go out to Seattle and spend all of Spring Break meeting and playing with their “new” cousin. Well, Seattle ended up being the epicenter then and Jim and Jess were quite literally in the thick of it. As ICU nurses, they’ve been fully suited up and hands on ever since. It was especially stressful for the rest of our family as we knew they were dealing with intense PPE shortage back then. 😔They’ve managed to stay slammed with Covid 19 while also staying healthy! One silver lining of this whole pandemic was when they decided it was just BS that we couldn’t come meet and photograph Raegan, so since the kids started school, they flew out just Adam and I for a long weekend! WIN for us. Got a little stress free time away to recharge for the holy mess that is Fall.

We spent Adam’s 39th bday hiking miles into the Cascade Mountains, which was super cool. A few yrs ago the 4 of us hiked all around Iceland for a week and saw incredibly different types of terrain and yet, this was still even different from that! Moss coated and hung from everything while ferns were at the base of the whole forest! So after checking it out the day before, we hiked back into the same mountain but just not as far this time for pics. Hiking is/was such a strong part of their life over the years that I wanted to document that part of their story!

Daddy’s bald head made a great drum! 🤣🤣

Miss Raegan is very independent and preferred to walk around much more than being held.

Dis leaf is pretty.

Casually glancing over to see if that lady is still taking pics. 🤣

The entire time in the forest she kept pushing off them to get down to the dirt and rocks. She’d squat or plop down in her pretty white dress and swipe the rocks back n forth. 😭 Back n forth til her hands were covered in dirt and we’d clean them with a wipe, only for her to do it again 2min later.🤣

So Adam was sitting on the rocks in front of them with all our “stuff.” Sometimes she thought he was funny. Sometimes.she.did.not.

She finally gave me her legit toothy smile!! The smile on the right is her normal smile which is ADORABLE. I kept saying it was like she was actively keeping her lips closed because when she’d smile like the left, it was like she realized she was showing teeth and then pulled her lips back tight!🤣😍 Either way, she’s so dang beautiful!

🤣😍

Every time! I can’t deal with it! She’s so stinking hilarious!!!

Adam trying to get her. 😍

Our assistant!😍 The hike the day before, Jim wore her the way up and it was exhausting, so Adam hiked up the mountain with Raegan on his back on day two so Jim didn’t have to sweat and get tired.

After we hiked back down, we drove a little ways to the Skykomish River landing at Index Mountain. Jess did all sorts of research and made contact with a camp grounds who allowed us to drive onto his private property to capture a different look of Seattle! Distant mountains!😍

I LOVE your joy here, Jim! I’ve never seen you so happy as I did this trip! Fatherhood is brought out a light inside you that is so beautiful to see! Quite honestly, I’m not sure I’ve EVER in our lives, seen you smile like this for a pic!! 😍

More rocks!

YES! So pretty!

Raegan is wearing a dress that her Nana, Jim’s mom, sewed for her. Jim lost his dad a few years back and this is the shirt Roger wore to Jess and Jim’s wedding. What a cute little personal memento! 😍

I wish the sky was blue and not over cast and mostly clouds the whole time! Honestly though, I was just happy the mountain view was clear!

Look at these cuties!

It’s like we stepped into a Bob Ross painting!

Geeeet back here!

Though it looks like she’s alone on these big boulders, there were protectors on both sides of her ready to grab the second she swayed. ☺️

I want to eat her up!! I’m so glad I finally got to kiss those cheeks!!

HOW GORGEOUS! Love those little waterfalls hiding back there!

Well, I’m glad I finally got out there to do this and your daughter can finally get in your picture frames! I’m glad it did get delayed though because her standing on her own and being able to do more made it better for pics too! The company was wonderful as was the weather! Thanks for bringing us out! I have NO idea when we will see you again next but hopefully before she’s 2! I’ll post some boating tomorrow!

Heart, “Aunt” Mel

Adam patiently waiting for me to boss him around while chilling on a boulder and secretly snapping pics of me standing in freezing water! 😀 Yes my booty is wet because I was walking that deep in it! COOOOLD. You do whatcha gotta do!
